Mifflin County, PA (WJAC) — State police say a 71-year-old McVeytown man is behind bars for his role in a deadly construction zone crash last summer near the Huntingdon and Mifflin County line. According to the affidavit, on the afternoon of July 11th, troopers were dispatched to the area of Route 22 and Route 522 for reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. Mine 40 Overlook in Richland Township put up for sale

A former coal mine may have a new owner soon as a local organization is looking to sell the property. Bids are being taken for the Mine 40 Overlook in Richland Township, which is owned and maintained by the Eureka Coal Heritage Foundation. Russell Heiple, solicitor with the Eureka Coal Heritage Foundation, said they deeded the property to Scalp Level Borough in 1992 due to it being a financial burden. Read More...
