Customers say goodbye to longtime DuBois business

DUBOIS - Customers in Clearfield County gathered for one last drink Wednesday to say goodbye to a local restaurant and bar. Julio's Tavern on South Jared Street in DuBois closed its kitchen Saturday and closed its bar Wednesday. Owner Fred Valdes said he and his family have owned the business for about 20 years. HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A senior adviser to Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro who abruptly resigned this week had been accused earlier this year of sexual harassment by a coworker who said his behavior forced her to quit her job in the governor's office. Mike Vereb, who served as Shapiro's secretary of legislative affairs until his resignation on Wednesday, was accused in the woman's complaint to the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission of subjecting her to lewd, misogynistic and unwanted sexual advances during her brief stint working in the governor's administration. Low voter enthusiasm could be big problem for Biden

WASHINGTON (TND) — Poor polling numbers continue to dog the President as he seeks a second term and other polling suggests his base might not be too excited for the 2024 rematch. President Joe Biden gave the commencement address Sunday to graduates at the HBCU Morehouse College in Atlanta. Some students protested by turning around during his speech, while there were demonstrations outside over the handling of the Israel-Hamas war.
