Human remains found after explosion in Clearfield Borough

CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WJAC) — UPDATE #2: Clearfield County District Attorney William Shaw said police initially reported all four occupants were accounted for, but surveillance footage showed female human remains were found in the first floor apartment. According to Shaw, gas valves were turned off in July. The identity, cause of death and cause of explosion are unknown. State police and the fire marshal are investigating. Progress made in approving funding for state universities, but 'no timetable' for release of funds

Some area learning centers closing for two weeks due to coronavirus concerns

JOHNSTOWN, Pa (WJAC) — Many area learning centers are closing due to coronavirus concerns. Any school-age Learning Lamp program that is held on-site will be closed for the next two weeks, officials say. However, programs that operate outside of school facilities will remain open. This includes The Learning Lamp’s child care and preschool programs on McKinley Avenue in Johnstown, near Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, as well as the Westmont, Jennerstown and Somerset child care programs.
