New 'DuBois Days' event scheduled to replace annual Community Days

DUBOIS, Pa (WJAC) — Local DuBois organizations and business owners are still working on a new community event scheduled for mid-June that would replace the annual Community Days, which was cancelled last month. Community Days normally draws crowds of thousands of people to downtown DuBois. After the fire department announced that it was unable to put the event on this year, local residents decided to come together to hold an event in its place, calling it ‘DuBois Days 2024. 5 inmates, CO charged in assault of fellow inmate at Blair County Prison

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Hollidaysburg Borough Police Department say five inmates and a corrections officer are facing charges for their involvement in the assault of another inmate at the Blair County Prison in September. Police say the victim was assaulted inside his cell and suffered numerous injuries including a broken nose and jaw, two broken orbital bones, multiple facial lacerations and a concussion. Black bear captured, tranquilized after roaming through NE DC backyards

WASHINGTON (7News) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and animal control crews safely captured a black bear that was running in the backyards of homes in northeast D.C. Friday morning, officials said.
